Alaska natural dog food
I thought i would give you all a bit of info about our Alaska range & give you a bit of background on the company Kiezerbrink that supply all our food & have given us exclusivity on their product throughout Spain. they have over 30 years of experience in producing food for animals & making sure they get it perfect with their nutritionists & they started the Alaska range in 2015, this is the basis behind how they make up this range.
Alaska natural pet food was established from this vision. based on the barf method (biologically appropriate raw food) Alaska natural pet food contains raw muscle meat, meat bones, organ meat and dogs supplemented with a mix of fresh mashed vegetables. only fresh raw materials of high quality are used in Alaska natural petfood, all necessary vitamins and minerals are naturally present in the fresh raw materials.
this was why they were absolutely the company we needed to have a collaboration with because they match our ethos of natural high-quality food because your best friend deserves the best.
they are transparent on what is in their food from the meat, organ & bone percentage, all the way down to how much moisture or calcium is in each one. you can find all this info in our shop, just click on the flavour image & it comes up for you. so all you have to do is make sure you buy a selection to provide a complete diet.
i hear you asking, why a variety of flavours? there are four categories of meat: white meat, red meat, game meat and fish. during the week when at least one sort of each meat category is fed, it can be assumed that a balanced diet is fed because they provide different nutritional benefits & contain different amounts.
you will see on our ingredients list that at the start it specifies a % i.e “ 85% lamb” this is because the meat, organs & bone are all from lamb providing a single source which is helpful for animals with allergies or intolerances.
why organs? because we get a balanced diet & on average 15% organ meat is recommended & it is important to vary the diet with differing organs such as; heart, tripe/rumen, kidneys, lung and liver.
these organs vary in amino acid profiles and vitamin and mineral contents. liver, for example, is a very important source of vitamin a, which is why we advise feeding liver but no more than 5%.
vitamin a, d, e and k are fat-soluble and can therefore be overdosed in a diet. furthermore, liver can have a laxative effect on animals if fed in too high a volume. when a dog or cat has to lose a stool this may be an indication of too high a proportion of organ meat in their diet.
muscle meat: muscle meat is an important source of amino acids, zinc and vitamin b12. we advise feeding on average 30% muscle meat.
this part is very dependent on the amount of meat on the meaty bones that are fed.
veg: you will find 15% made up of carrot, cauliflower & spinach that contain vitamin a, c, k, c, e b6, b9, carotenoids, potassium, fibre, folate & iron along with carbs to give them energy.
